We just can't stay at home on the weekends because it's much more tiring to think of activities to do (other than watch cartoons) every 20-30 minutes or so out than it is to just comment on and explore things that come up as you walk along the zoo path, or come across in a children's museum, or really any place that's new or has variety of things to explore. We end up pointing at things, talking about them, asking questions about them, touching them, etc, just naturally, without any prior preparation (well, other than planning where to go). "Look at that painting. What color is the sky? Blue. See this flower? It's also blue. What kind of flower is this? That's right, a rose. Look, this is a sculpture. This - a painting. This - a sculpture. It's a sculpture of a horse. What does a horse say? Neigh-neigh. What is this? A plate." With our older boy, of course, it's a more complicated conversation.Bay Area Mom Dayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10710491757511134315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3516632285892603480.post-62784509548270633312009-03-09T11:42:00.000-07:002009-03-09T11:42:00.000-07:00I have the same problem with toys.
